Starting this Sunday, November 19th, we will be starting two new missions at the First United Church of Christ!
All donations to the mission crock from now until Christmas will be given to the Friends of the Homeless. November is National Homelessness Awareness Month and this time is particularly hard on those suffering from homelessness. We have worked many times with the Friends of the Homeless shelter and they do amazing work to help people during a difficult time in their lives and they work towards getting people the resources they need to get rehoused. If you wish to help us in this cause, you can mail a check with 'mission' in the memo line to PO Box 422, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
Also, the National Honors Society of New Philadelphia is starting a new project to create free stores where students can pick up basic toiletry needs they may need free of charge and of judgement. They would like donations of basic toiletries such as deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, face wash, shampoo, etc. We will collect these items here until January and will get them over to the school for those in need.
